In the short term: CAD AID Foundation carries out its activities by organizing seminars, conferences, training sessions, exhibition camps, publishing and distributing publications, supporting initiatives in rural and urban areas, opening places of welcome, exchange and advice, educational support, libraries, messages and helplines. We also combat drug use, and have set up CAD AID clubs in schools to counter this. The association is also setting up several focal points in the cities of these countries where the need is greatest, to show women and girls the importance, indeed the necessity, of educating and empowering themselves. The creation of these focal points goes hand in hand with solving the problem faced by existing solutions to maximize awareness campaigns on education, leadership and female entrepreneurship, which is one of CAD AID Foundation's key solutions. As part of our work, we have recruited a maximum number of young girls, women volunteers and resource persons, including doctors, psychologists, jurists, lawyers, personal development coaches, teachers and many others, to maximize awareness campaigns on education, leadership and female entrepreneurship in the field and on social networks, so as to enable women to love themselves anew, to step out of their comfort zone and to have more faith in themselves than ever.
Long-term: We are creating partnerships with selected companies to help integrate women and girls into the world of work. At the end of each year, we organize fund-raising events to support women and girls in need, and award prizes for female excellence. The aim of all this is to encourage women to work harder, to help them develop self-confidence in their various areas of expertise, and ultimately to achieve gender equality and further empower all women and girls in Africa. As always, CAD AID Foundation will ensure their full and effective participation and equal access to leadership positions, and to all levels of decision-making, in political, economic and public life through refresher seminars reinforcing the use of computer and communication skills, to promote their empowerment according to their fields of activity. CAD AID also undertakes reforms aimed at giving women equal rights to economic resources, as well as access to ownership and control of land and other forms of property, financial services, inheritance and natural resources, in compliance with the domestic law of each country where it is legally present or represented. In general, the association adopts and strengthens well-designed policies and applicable legislative provisions for the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls at all levels of society.
PROJECT COST
To better serve our community, we estimate the cost of our project at 20 million CFA francs (around 30,500 euros). 65% of the cost will be used to help women and girls according to their respective needs (education, medical care, psychological assistance, support for relevant projects...) in these countries, and 35% will be used as overheads (awareness campaigns in the field, conferences and training seminars, creation and maintenance of focal points). In summary, overheads will include head office and focal point expenses, salaries, banking, bookkeeping, personnel, operations, campaigns, public relations activities, fund monitoring and control, and any other needs that will enable us to carry out our actions. CAD AID Foundation's vision is to double its effectiveness each year and empower more women and girl leaders in the next five years. In addition, we would like to raise more funds from the sale of goods and services that we will offer once the women and girls are trained and ready to enter the job market, from national and international government grants and from private donations.
